Dillon:
Enjoy inspiring views of the Beaverhead Valley and surrounding mountain ranges from the back of a horse, including views of a large and important section of the Lewis and Clark expedition. Rides start from our stables 3 miles west of Dillon on Ten Mile Road (past the KOA Campgrounds). We welcome kids and adults, beginner to experienced riders.
Bannack:
For a trip back in history we do special rides at Bannack State Park . These rides are from about 2 hours to all-day. You’ll see Bannack , Montana ’s most first territorial capital and most famous Ghost Town and views of an area virtually unchanged since Lewis and Clark went through 2 centuries ago. The third weekend in July we are a part of the Bannack Days celebration, Bannack comes alive with period demonstrations, reenactments, gold panning, entertainment and we furnish the Bannack Days horseback rides.
Elkhorn Hot Springs:
Combine a horseback ride in a beautiful area with a dip in the natural hot springs pools at Elkhorn Hot Springs. We offer 1½ hour to all day rides by reservation from the corrals above the plunge.

Cookout Rides:
From our Dillon stables and our upper Crystal Park cabin we offer a scenic mid-day or evening horseback ride and campfire cookout. The evenings are especially beautiful for riding, watching wildlife, and eating great food around a crackling campfire. The meal is a barbecue of choice meat, salads, Dutch oven potatoes and dessert. And of course there’s marshmallows roasted over the fire or better yet, add chocolate and grahm crackers for the traditional s’more!

High lake trips offer spectacular scenery, superb fishing and a lakeside lunch. We have Lake Trips from 1.5 to 3 hours one-way.
Mountain & Meadow Rides:
If you are more into the riding our Mountain & Meadow Rides explore the wildlife rich Pioneer and Blacktail Mountains through virgin forests and lush wildflower meadows. Or ride back in history with a horseback tour through some of Montana ’s earliest gold rush diggings, mining mills, cabins and ghost towns.
Cabin Camp:

If you’ve got the time the best way to experience our high country is on a horseback pack trip. Our guided trips combine riding, fishing, wildlife, breathtaking scenery and comfortable camping in the unspoiled backcountry. Pack trips run from 2 to 5-days. We do a base camp trip to Sand Lake and moving Adventure trips.
The Sand Lake pack trip:
It is about a three-hour ride up to our lakeside base camp. The trail winds through meadows and forests, and by 4 different lakes. About halfway in we stop for a lakeside lunch.
We have used the Sand Lake camp for hunting and fishing trips since the 70's. It is by camping standards, deluxe. There is a large cook tent with table and chairs, a cook range and wood heating stove. Outside the cook tent the center attraction is the rock lined fire pit where many meals are cooked over the fire, marshmallows are roasted and stories are told under starry skies.
Our guests stay in roomy tents down by the lake. We furnish comfortable sleeping pads and cots, and with the serenity of the lake, a soothing rejuvenating sleep awaits.
The Sand Lake area offers unlimited horseback riding opportunities, from short rides around the lake and meadow to extended day rides to other lakes. The area has an extensive trail system plus forests and meadows that allow cross-country exploration. Not to be missed is a spectacular ride to the top of Odell Mountain . An old Fire Lookout trail provides a spectacular ride up to where the mountain goats play. From the top of Odell Mountain the views of the Anaconda Pintler Wilderness area, the East and West Pioneer Mountains , the Big Hole Valley , and the Bitteroot Mountains are breathtaking. You’ll see what Lewis and Clark faced when they ran into the Rockies .
Back at camp there is fishing, swimming, hiking, or relaxing on the sandy beach.
For the fly or spin fisherman Sand Lake is loaded with Cutthroat, Rainbow and Cutbow trout. The fish are plentiful, good sized, and full of fight: if you'd like to keep one for dinner, they’re mighty tasty. With small rubber rafts and a shallow sandy bottom, fly and spin fishermen of any age catch fish.
Bring your sleeping bag and fishing tackle or we can furnish everything you need for the trip of a lifetime.
